For me, the first draft has been like a Rubik’s cube.

Maybe not the best comparison since I’m shit at solving a Rubik’s cube, but what I mean is there are all these faces to the puzzle that need to be shifted and lined up into solid colours.

Instead of six cube colours, the first draft has six elements: characters, plot, world, pacing, style, and genre.

Some of those I have figured completely figured out, others are a bit of a mess. However, the more I work on it, the more it all comes together. I’m so close to being done, the light at the end of the first draft tunnel is getting brighter.

My passion for this story continues to grow. I can’t wait to be done, and have each of my writing Rubik’s cube sides lined up.
